Sulphur dioxide valves have a basic construction characterized by a robust and simple design, precision machining, proven performance, reliability and durability. Although not provided with a built in safety device, the design meets the requirement of international specifications.
The body is hot pressed from high-quality wrought brass bars to BS:2872 CZ 122 (CuZn40Pb2) and after forging meets the minimum requirements of tensile strength, elongation and Izod values.
The SS316 stainless steel spindle is suitable for sulphur dioxide and comes with special threads for durability. Other components are also made from materials compatible with sulphur dioxide, for instance, the gland, which is made from teflon.
Each valve is marked for gas identification, month/year of manufacture and the manufacturer’s identity.
