The Next Generation of Cylinders

Cylinder categories (full cylinder weights):

• Portable: < 20 Kg

• Semi Portable: 20 to 40 Kg

• Transportable: > 40 Kg

The most common LPG cylinders - 9 to 13 Kg - nowadays fall into the Semi Portable category.

In order to change the category of these cylinders from Semi Portable to Portable, two approaches were taken:

• LPG Capacity:
  Sacrificing the LPG capacity to meet the transportability criteria - reducing 5/6 Kg LPG.

• Materials:
  Use alternative materials to reduce the weight of the container, without changing the LPG content.

"Composite" Materials

Definition - "Two or more dissimilar materials which when combined are stronger than the individual materials."
