Frequently Asked Questions |
• Which cars can be converted to run on gas?
All cars that run on petrol with a carburetor system, an injection
system or injection system with catalytic exhaust can be converted
to run on gas. ADCENG will advise which is the system best suited
to your car/cars. |

• In what condition must a vehicle be in order to convert to
gas?
A well maintained vehicle is a prerequisite for conversion,
especially its fuel and the ignition systems.
• After a gas system has been installed, can I still run my car
on petrol?
With the installation of either an LPG or CNG system, the vehicle
can still run on petrol. The driver chooses which type of fuel to
use by simply activating a changeover switch on the dashboard.
• How do you refuel with LPG?
|
|
Refuelling is done by connecting the dedicated refueling nozzle
onto the vehicle’s refueling filler valve. As a safety measure, a
multi-valve prevents the tank from being filled by more than 80%.
• How do you refuel with CNG?
A dispenser hose is connected to the refueling valve on the
vehicle, generally located under the bonnet or close to the
gasoline filler. The time required for filling is 4/5 minutes for
a medium sized vehicle (80-100 litre tank).
• What distance can be covered on a tank of LPG?
A vehicle that does 10 km/ℓ when
running on petrol should achieve comparable consumption. Tanks
will vary in size depending on whether loading capacity or
distance per tank load is the priority. If it’s loading capacity,
a toroidal, ‘doughnut’ shaped tank should be placed in the housing
for the vehicle’s spare wheel. If tank capacity is the priority,
then a cylinder-shaped tank yielding a distance of about 600km
should be installed. |

• What distance can be covered on tank of CNG?
A vehicle which does 10 km/ℓ on petrol should cover 230km with a
90ℓ tank. |
