The "electronic chip" is an LPG cylinder identifier.
It may be placed either on the base, the collar or the coating of the
cylinder.
This identifier can be read at a distance by a fixed
or portable reader (communication by radio signals) linked to a PC housing
the database of the cylinder yard.
The specific data for each LPG cylinder are unlimited,
and generally include the following:
- Cylinder identifier.
- Date of manufacture.
- Manufacturer's name.
- Customer code.
- Distributor code.
- Cylinder characteristics.
- Types of valve.
- Tare.
- Date of retesting.
- Date last filled.
- History of the latest maintenance work.
- Other parameters that could be deemed necessary by the operator
or the authorities.
This system for managing cylinder information has many
advantages, such as:
- Reliability of the filling command.
- Optimisation of the production pace.
- Traceability of the fillings.
- Safety features of the tests (retesting, leak detection, etc.).
- Automation of the units for maintenance.
- Traceability of the maintenance work.
